Dr Sophie Lange, Microsoft Research Cambridge, will be speaking at the 2019 IEEE British and Irish Conference on Optics and Photonics!
Sophie Lange is a post-doc researcher at Microsoft Research Cambridge, working on the design, fabrication and characterisation of photonic integrated circuits used for transceivers in optical networks. She joined project Sirius in 2018 to work on fast optical switching in intra-data centre networks. Before Microsoft, she was working at the Photonic Components Department in the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, Berlin, as a Research Associate from 2012 to 2018 and has received the PhD degree in optical communications technology from the Technical University Berlin in 2018. She received the M.Sc. degree in photonic networks engineering as a part of an Erasmus Mundus Program from Aston University, Birmingham, U.K., Scuola Superiore St’Anna, Pisa, Italy, and Osaka University, Japan, in 2012, and the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University Berlin in 2010
